Procedure for Registration

Home Applications for Registration (Provisional/Permanent or Special Purpose 3-month) can be made through the offices of our worldwide network of Maritime Registrars, a Service Provider in St. Kitts & Nevis or direct to the International Registrar of Shipping & Seamen at SKANReg Head Office.

Quotations for Registration Services can be obtained by submitting a written request for the Registration Service required.

Application Forms which include a list of documents required for Registration can be downloaded from this website.  These can be submitted by fax or email for Provisional Registration. 

Special Purpose Registration

Special Purpose Registration is available for delivery voyages/one-off voyages/scrap voyages.  The period of registration is for 3 months only.

There is a simplified and speedier Registration procedure.  Most such Registrations can be completed in one working day if all documents are correctly submitted at the one time.

A reduced rate of fees applies for such Registrations.

Please apply to the International Registrar of Shipping and Seamen or a Maritime Registrar or Service provider for full details and costs if you wish to register a ship under this procedure.

Register through a Maritime Registrar

Application for Registration of a vessel should be made to your nearest Maritime Registrar who will guide you through the Application Process. A list of Maritime Registrars is on this website.

OR

Through a Service Provider in St. Kitts & Nevis

Application for Registration of a vessel should be made to your preferred Service Provider in St. Kitts & Nevis who will guide you through the Application Process. How to obtain details of available Service Providers is on this website.

OR

Through SKANReg Head Office

Alternatively, download the required application forms and submit them with supporting documents to the International Registrar of Shipping & Seamen.
